Vasquez was first introduced to music at the age of four by his mother, who was a singer in her young adulthood. As a child, he grew up listening to oldies, which was always played at all the family functions. When he was 11, he wrote his first rap, the day after he graduated elementary school. The older he got, he started to hone his skills by participating in ciphers, putting songs on high school mixtapes, and doing small shows. To fast-forward, with the admiration of being his own boss, Alpha Boy Musik was started in 2009. This seemed to be the perfect setting for a young aspiring artist with business savvy.
With the start of his own record label, Vasquez has control over the start of his music career. “The more y’all hate, the more money I’ll make” he believes. “There are those who want you to make it and will support you and appreciate what you’re doing, and there are those who just don’t want to. I’ve always been humbled by the support and I know for sure that there’s only one way to go and that’s up. God has blessed me with a talent that I very much so wanna share with the world. It’s just a matter of time before I’m able to do so. When it’s ya time, it’s ya time. And I feel like my stars are aligning up and soon enough, I’ll be making noise in Philly, and all over.” It’s just a matter of time before we get to witness what it is Vasquez has to offer.
Vasquez sure believes he’ll make his mark and become prosperous pursuing what it is he loves to do, create music. He believes he is “The New Breed”, and with his upcoming project underway, he’ll get to share his talents with the world. Vasquez “Da General”, Alpha Boy Musik…The new movement.
