Musician/Hip-Hop Artist
"A life dedicated, to them never saying I never made it!" What started out as a bar in a verse has become a sort of a mantra for Chill Moody. The young aspiring hip-hop artist prides himself on being one of the top lyricists to hit Philadelphia in years. He has been compared to rappers such as Common, Black Thought, Lupe Fiasco, and Talib Kweli due to his flow, lyrical content, song making ability and versatility.
Chill Moody was born to Vicki and Terence Moody, and he hails from West Philadelphia. Chill is also the front man for a hip-hop stable “Tha ESTablishmynt” which consists of producers, other rappers and R&B singers. They also have plans on branching out into the comedy field as well as acting and party promotion. Most recently, Chill Moody launched his own T-Shirt clothing line “Moody Sunshine” in the summer of 2009. "What's interesting about Tha ESTablishmynt is that all the members are blood relatives."
After Chill Moody graduated from Overbrook High School in Philadelphia he began attending Millersville University where he honed his craft of creating high-quality hip-hop music. He graduated with a degree in speech communications, with an option in public relations. "I've been rapping for as long as I can remember, since third grade talent shows, but I've only recently got serious with rap music." Chill a.k.a "Tha Blokk Capt'n" has released five official mixtapes, his most recent (The iIL-Chill Project) reached over 100+ downloads in the first ten minutes of its November 13th 2009 release, and has since then cleared 1,000+ downloads.
The iiL-Chill Project is available for free download at www.chillmoody.com Other than rapping, Chill also pens lyrics for R&B songs and is the creator of The Youtube show E.S.Tv. "At the end of the day I want to do it all. Own a label, rap, act, run a clothing line, produce shows and albums, and I am certain I have the ability to do it all."
Chill is currently working alongside producer Hank McCoy, creating a collaboration mixtape titled: “...And They Love Us Back”
